Dr. Ashley Shea is a certified nurse practitioner with experience in primary care, women’s health and menopause management.
Dr. Shea brings over a decade of nursing experience to Lisa Larkin MD, and, Associates. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio University. As a registered nurse, she worked both in critical care and home care. In December 2018, Dr. Ashley Shea received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, with a focus in Adult Geriatric Primary Care, from the University of Cincinnati. She graduated with magna cum laude honors.
Ashley fulfilled a rotation with Dr. Lisa Larkin in early 2018 during her doctorate program clinical work. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for primary care and women’s health.
Ashley provides excellent care to both men and women from young adulthood to geriatric years. Although the practice has a strong focus on women’s health, Ashley also has a passion for providing comprehensive, well rounded care to her male patients
As a primary care provider, she believes in the power of patient education and a superior patient-provider relationship. She prides herself on providing compassionate, high quality, personalized care for patients. The direct primary care model allows her to exercise her passion in patient education, lifestyle, disease prevention and chronic disease management.
In 2020, Ashley became a certified clinician with the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). As a NAMS menopause provider, Ashley demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines and the ability to provide exceptional gender specific care of midlife women and beyond. In addition to NAMS, Ashley is an active member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) and The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. (NPWH). Ashley serves as clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students. She enjoys educating and sharing her passion and knowledge of primary care and women’s health.
A native Cincinnatian, Ashley and her husband Matt live in Anderson Township with their two young children and dog Charli. Ashley is a self-described coffee addict and book enthusiast. On the weekends you can find her cheering on the sidelines at her kids’ activities, exploring Findlay Market and local parks or curled up reading her favorite book.
