Medical Weight Loss Management

a comprehensive, physician-guided approach to metabolic health

At CMoC, we believe sustainable weight loss begins with understanding metabolic health—not just prescribing medication. Our medical weight loss management program is designed to support long-term results through a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that combines clinical oversight, body composition tracking, and nutrition support.

The CMoC Approach to Medical Weight Loss

Weight management is complex, and medications alone are not a complete solution. That’s why our program focuses on whole-person metabolic care, not just the number on the scale.

Our approach emphasizes:

  • A comprehensive medical evaluation and ongoing clinician oversight

  • Evidence-based use of GLP-1 medications when appropriate

  • Regular monitoring of body composition and metabolic progress

  • Nutrition counseling to support sustainable lifestyle changes

If you are prescribed a GLP-1 medication through CMoC, your care includes:

  • Quarterly appointments (every 3 months)

    • At least 2 in-person visits per year

    • Up to 2 virtual visits per year

  • Body composition analysis at every visit, with ongoing tracking

  • Nutrition consultation through NOURISH, our trusted partner for personalized nutrition counseling

Insurance Coverage & Medication Approval

All insurance plans require prior authorization before GLP-1 medications can be filled. This process ensures medical criteria are met but may take time.

What to expect:

  • Prior authorization typically takes 3–5 business days

  • If denied, the appeals process can take up to 30 days

  • Some insurance plans exclude GLP-1 medications entirely; in these cases, appeals cannot be submitted

Manufacturer savings programs and coupons may be available, but these change frequently. If insurance coverage is limited or unavailable, we offer transparent out-of-pocket options outlined below.

GLP-1 Medication Options

Option 1: Pharma Direct Programs (Shipped to You)

We can send your prescription directly to Lilly Direct or NovoCare.

How it works:

  • We submit the prescription on your behalf

  • The pharmaceutical company contacts you directly for payment and shipping

  • Medications are FDA-approved and pharma-regulated

Important to know:

  • These medications are provided in vials, not traditional pen devices

  • Syringes are included

  • You will self-draw and administer your dose

  • Our clinical team will teach you exactly how to do this if needed

Option 2: In-Office FDA-Approved Medication

  • 2 mg Semaglutide pen available in-office: $1,155

  • Your clinician will guide dosing and adjustments using the pen’s “click” system

  • May be a convenient or cost-effective option for certain patients

Our Pharmacy Standards

CMoC does not prescribe compounded GLP-1 medications.

Why?

  • Concerns about medication purity, dosing accuracy, and consistency

  • FDA-approved, pharma-regulated medications ensure quality and safety

For patients without insurance coverage, we typically recommend pharma direct programs, though in-office FDA-branded medications may also be appropriate in some cases.
